• Application Form: CP-Meiji SPEED COFFEE ART CHAMPIONSHIP 2023

    Applicants must fill in application form and send their clip of ‘Free-style’ latte art pouring. Judges will review applications and select 128 applicants (124 baristas from Thailand and 4 baristas from Top 4 of CP-Meiji Speed Coffee Art Championship : HK Episode) to be eligible for competing in the competition. The announcement of 128 contestants will be made on Saturday June 10th, 2023.


    Group Draw Date:

    - Monday June 19th, 2023

    - 128 contestants will be divided into four groups: A, B, C, and D with 32 contestants per group. The contestants with highest scores will be placed in ‘seed place’ in each group. The rest of the contestants will be randomly drawn into each group.

    Competition Details:
    Round of 128 / Round of 64/ Round of 32

    3-minute time for 2 cups of free pour latte

    - Cup #1 : Free style

    - Cup #2 : Random from the world-champions wheel

    *If ties, 2-minute time for Cup #3: Random from the world-champions wheel


     
    Round of 16 / Round of 8 / Round of 4

    10-minute time for 2 cups of milk beverage and 1 cups of free pour latte

    (Preparation 4 minutes/ competition 3.30 minutes/ cleaning 2.30 minutes)

    - Cup #1 : 2 cups of the same milk beverage menu

    Served hot, with ingredients of 1 shot of espresso and milk

    - Cup #2 : 1 cup of free pour latte, random from the world-champions wheel


    Third Place Round / Final Round

    12-minute time for 2 cups of milk beverage and 2 cups of free pour latte

    (Preparation 4 minutes/ competition 5.30 minutes/ cleaning 2.30 minutes)

    - Cup #1 : 2 cups of the same milk beverage menu

    Served hot, with ingredients of 1 shot of espresso and milk

    - Cup #2 : 1 cup of free pour latte, random from the world-champions wheel

    - Cup #3 : 1 cup of designer pattern latte


     
    Rules

    ♦ Baristas will be randomly paired and drawn into one of the four groups.

    ♦ In 1st – 3rd rounds (round of 128, 64, and 32), there will be 3 judges.

    - Barista whose cups are selected by at least 2 out of 3 judges win, and proceed to the next round

    ♦ In 4th – 8th rounds (round of 16 until final round), there will be 5 judges--3 judges for latte art and 2 judges for milk beverage

    - Barista whose cups are selected by at least 3 out of 5 judges win, and proceed to the next round.

    - Baristas who win round of 4 will compete for championship title, whereas baristas who defeat will compete for the third place.

    ♦ Baristas who do not serve the cups according to the order, or exceed the time limit, will be disqualified.
